Piuray lagoon

Day trip to Piuray Lagoon

The Piuray Lagoon (3435 meters), located just 2 km southeast of the town of Chinchero, has provided the city of Cusco with water through subterranean channels since the time of the Incas. It is a wetland that attracts every year, from September to April, entire flocks of migratory birds as well as reptiles, hummingbirds and pumas. We offer a fishing, picnic and camping day where at night we will go stargazing with the help of our own portable telescope.

Bring with you water, sunglasses, sport shoes, lightweight waterproof jacket and pants, hat and a warm cap. Guide, box lunch, and tent (or canopy tent) are included.

Best season: Year round. September to April for bird watching.
Difficulty: Easy
Elevation: 3400 meters
